Of course I didn't notice the chunk missing from the tip top until I had already lugged it out to the car. :(
Lowes had this Kwik Wood epoxy wood repair putty that I thought I would try.
It worked really well! I was able to sort of mold the putty into the form of the missing part of the drawer. After it dried, I sanded it to make it a little more level. It's not perfect, but I think it will do just fine!
The plan was to replace the original pulls, so I got busy filling holes with my wood filler and drilling a couple new ones where the replacement knobs would go.
After sanding the table down, I brushed on Kilz 0 VOC Clean Start.
The next day I lightly sanded it with 220 grit sandpaper. Our playroom is painted this turquoise color (Sea Wave), and I thought it would be a fun color for the table.
My spray gun is hibernating for the winter :), so it was out with the brush and roller again! The Purdy Cub is the brush I use. It works great! I use it to get all the nooks, crannies, and curved places.
The mini high-density roller works well for all the big flat surfaces, and makes for a quick job!
This is what they look like in the package.
After two coats of the turquoise and some distressing, it was time for a little RL Glaze!
I finished the table with two quick coats of the wipe-on poly~
The inside of the drawer got a fresh coat of paint, too, and I mod podged some cute paper I had on hand.
I switched out the original pulls and replaced them with these knobs I found at Hobby Lobby this morning. Unfortunately, I keep missing the 50% off knob sale! :(
Here is the before pic of the table~
...and after~
Cute paisley paper~

Lovin' it! Great pics.
that looks beautiful! love the color and the pop of paper on the inside!
I just bought a paint sprayer but unfortunately, I only used it once. It's so cold here...now. I love that you broke out the paintbrush. I'm right there with you. Love how this table turned out. The glaze looks really pretty around the detailed edges of the drawer. Beautiful color, too!
As always another great transformation. How in the world do you get all these projects accomplished? Do you not sleep, my friend?
The repair job looks great! And I love the color and the glazing. Well done, Kim! ... Isn't it time to hang up your paint brush for the holidays? I finished my last piece this afternoon. Whoo-hoo! But of course I'll be dying to get back to it in January!
I love it. I wish I was as motivated as you. I still have a desk I bought 3 months ago for my daughter that I need to redo.
Love this I used to surprise all of my customers by doing the paper in the drawers. Such a nice touch.
lol I never notice the chunks missing either, my friend! You did a great job repairing it. I'm working on a repair job myself right now. You did a great job as usual. No more wax huh? ha ha. I just bought some wipe on poly too the other day.

Wow!! I am always so impressed at what you do to the little 'orpaned' pieces you find in the thrift stores. Incredible work!!! They all seem to find their way to great homes where they are really wanted. Love it! :)
